If you use the emulation on the QT for the 6 or 8 dot Braille keyboard, can you use the BT commands such as press SDF & JKL and space (Dots 1-6 and space) to get to the Main Menu instead of pressing the MENU key? (I remember with the old Type 'n Speak that you could use the Braille 'n Speak commands in it's built in Braille mode).
