I also want to add:
Bluetooth visual display so you do not need to have serial or Infrared connections to a device (though you need a certain Palm-based PDA for the display) USB connectivity to a computer so you can go online through ActiveSync with no networking card. This is especially helpful when there is no wireless network at school and you do not have a networking card. All you need for web access is a computer with ActiveSync. The mPower can read DAISY books as well as many types of media formats You can use the Remote Synthesizer or Braille Terminal with Bluetooth as well as serial.

All these would help in a school situation (I know they help me). I hope you get the mPower!

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: re: [Braillenote] Stability of the BrailleNote MPower

Hi Alana,
There are many things:
* Yes, mPower is more stable than Classic (it
has more memory and more powerful processor).
* In educational setting, with the addition
of Oxford dictionary (which I'm proud to say
that I've now acquired it and using it at
school) and Nemeth Tutorial (which will be
released soon), with the advantage of VGA
output, it opens up new opportunities for
students and teachers alike.
* Also, with the USB ports (two of them), you
can easily transfer files between two or more
mPowers and computers using USB Flash Drive.
* The inclusion of SD slot means that
BrailleNote mPower can use mainstream SD
cards for storing music, documents, and alike
(these days most mainstream Pocket PC's and
computers, especially laptops use SD cards).
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] Stability of the
BrailleNote MPower

Hi members,
Can anyone give an opinion on the stability
of the MPower compared to the classic?
I know that it is faster and has more
features. Also, what benefits does it have
in the educational setting apart from the
recorder and increased disk space?
The reason I want to know this is because I
am considering purchasing one in the future.
Thanks,
Alana
