Subject: vip-l: BrailleNote GPS is released!

I'm shouting it from the rooftop! BrailleNote GPS with Australian maps is
released!

And how did I get on to the rooftop? I found my way using BrailleNote GPS,
marking it as a point of interest!

Seriously though, HumanWare is extremely excited to announce that Australian
maps are now available for use with the BrailleNote GPS product from
Sendero. This tool for independent navigation by vision impaired people
combines software, a large database of map and point of interest data and a
small satellite signal receiver for allowing informed travel and orientation
to outdoor environments.

This technology has been enjoyed and valued by many BrailleNote users in
North America and Europe for some years, and now Australians can take
advantage of it too. Sendero's BrailleNote GPS will normally be available
from HumanWare Australia for $2,175. However, there is a special,
introductory price up until the end of June 2007 of only $2,060.

Customers who already own BrailleNote GPS version 1 or 2 should contact
HumanWare to obtain details on a very good upgrade price.

Sendero GPS for the BrailleNote family, with a wireless or serial GPS
receiver, helps guide and inform you about your surroundings. It's a
location information and mapping device for blind people.

The automatic "look-around" mode announces things like street intersections,
bus stops and businesses on your way to your destination. You can find
everything from ATM's, to restaurants to shops, using the extensive database
of points of interest.

You will love Sendero's exclusive "look ahead" capability. When you are
travelling in a car, you can preview the next several turns in a route, to
give the driver plenty of advance notice.

The lightweight GPS receiver can connect wirelessly to your BrailleNote or
VoiceNote, using Bluetooth technology. You can clip your GPS receiver
discreetly on your shoulder strap, or keep it in your pocket or handbag.

Reach your destinations faster and easier. Sendero GPS has quick, powerful
search functions.

With Sendero GPS, you are in control. You can enter your own waypoints, and
share them with other users through the Sendero Web site.

If you want to give your BrailleNote GPS a really good workout all day,
that's OK because the BrailleNote long-life battery operates for 10 to 20
hours.

Once you have it, you won't think of going anywhere without your BrailleNote
and GPS. Try it, and you'll see.

Sendero's sophisticated GPS software enables you to use your BrailleNote or
VoiceNote to:
* Automatically create routes for either walking or riding in a vehicle,
coast to coast if you wish.
* Understand the street layout before travelling to a new city, using the
"virtual explore" mode.
* Generate detailed information about your speed, the direction you are
travelling and your altitude.
* Calculate the distance and direction to a street address or intersection.
* "See" how street and business names are spelled with the optional built-in
Braille display.
* Use Hot keys for one-handed access to Sendero GPS functions.

New Sendero GPS packages come with the software, a storage card, audio
tutorial, maps, a database of Points of Interest, 1 future electronic
upgrade and either a Bluetooth or serial GPS receiver with WAAS.

Please note that customers need to be running KeySoft 7.0 or above in order
to run BrailleNote GPS. If you are running a version of KeySoft earlier than
7.0 on a BrailleNote Classic, then the best upgrade path would be via a
BrailleNote transplant.
