Hi Vicky and all,
I do understand your concerns, and hope that my message did not leave
the wrong impression. In my role as technical support manager for
HumanWare USA I do endeavor to read the list posts and to respond as
time allows. My message was honestly only meant to remind everyone of
the multiple ways of interacting with HumanWare beyond the BrailleNote
email list, and this will always be the most efficient way of receiving
a direct response to an inquiry.
I do not at all disagree that HumanWare staff have not been posting
responses to the email list as frequently as in the past. Various staff
will occasionally post more often then others as time commitments and
assignments to various projects change. This could also include changes
to who is being asked to moderate the list from time to time.
HumanWare is always interested in hearing from our customers, and is
constantly exploring new ways of interacting with the various groups
that it serves. You may have noticed some recent online presentations
and discussions as an example of this. BrailleNote user forums will be
conducted at both the ACB and NFB National conventions in July as
another opportunity to exchange ideas, suggestions or concerns.
Any other suggestions or ideas are always welcome, and anyone who would
like to submit those to me directly can contact me via the details at
the end of this message.
Regards,
Matthew Janusauskas

Hi Matthew and All,
Well, grin, you could have just said you're welcome, and that the HW
staff
are glad to help customers when they're able to do so. However, seeing
as
you didn't and chose to discuss the list policy instead, I figured why
not
jump in hear and comment. I didn't want to say too much right after
Jonathan left, figuring that HW needed time to adjust, but that has been
months ago now.
Surely, you've got to admit that there has been a change in the list
policy
in the last several months in regards to how HW interacts with the
users/prospective customers on the list. And, if you question that, all
you
would have to do is go to the list archives over the past couple of
years
and take a look.
Now, HW may certainly do what they please in regards to this list;
however,
for at least some of us who have been around and on the list for a few
years, we
can't help but notice the change and wonder why. And, well, just left to
our own devices to speculate, I'm thinking that sure can't be a very
good
approach. But, oh, well.
Vicky Collins

Hello JD,
A number of HumanWare staff do attempt to read the posts to the
BrailleNote list, but as I'm sure everyone can understand, we are not
able to read or respond to every message, even those that may be
directed to HumanWare staff.
The list continues to be provided as a resource for customers to
interact with one another and to exchange ideas and support one another.
Anyone wishing to communicate directly with someone at HumanWare should
always use one of the more direct channels offered at the following
page:
http://www.humanware.com/en-usa/contact
We appreciate all of the suggestions and feedback that is shared on the
list, as well as the many generous individuals who give freely of their
time and expertise assisting other list members.
