Hi Jay,

Part of the transplant process is to convert your address list to the new
format so you should not have needed to copy anything at all back onto
your machine. I would suggest you contact the service center that did the
transplant for you and talk to them about getting your old CDB file
converted again.

Best regards

Jonathan Sharp

Subject
[Braillenote] Using old AddressList.CDB file With New BrailleNote

Hi Folks,

My name is Jay and it has been many years since I've been on this list.
Looking forward to whatever knowledge you can impart to me about my
dilemma.

Before sending my old BN BT off to be transplanted/upgraded to a BN mPower
QT, I was instructed by tech support to copy the existing CDB file in
Address List to my laptop so I could restore all my data once I was ready.

Okay, I bet you guys know where I'm going with this don't you?

I tried bringing in the old file via a memory stick and it asked me if I
wanted to overwrite the existing CDB file. Of course, I said YES! When I
tried to open the address list it told me "Access Denied!" O how I hate
such messages.

I tried some other tricks making sure to backup the existing KLT file, but
was only able to progress to a message that said something like "The
operation was successful." Got a quick warm/fuzzy on that one, but I
still could access my data.

Please help me navigate what I am sure is a problem that has been
discussed on this list before.

Hey, is Ms. Dresdner still out there helping folks on this list? She was
the best.
