THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I owe you a big virtual hug and kiss. It was a couple of things. One, I wasn't using all caps, two, I was using the wap instead of isp, and three I had no idea I needed to set anything related to GPRS on my phone.

I'm writing off list because I'm just copying and pasting the entire info from the message archive. Hope this works for you: [Braillenote] Bluetooth and cell phone [Braillenote] Bluetooth and cell phone Vicky Collins v-collins at sbcglobal.net Sun Mar 18 04:20:15 NZST 2007 list of 3 items . Messages sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] list end ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Hi Peggy, I don't have a 6620 anymore, as I have gone to using a Pocket PC with Mobile Speak Pocket. However, I recalled there being some goofy things to get the 6620 set up to work with the BN, so I went to the list archives to find the info. And, well, seeing as I ran across it first, why not post a message you sent explaining how to set it up. Note that this is the info for the data plan, and not the MediaNet, although the MediaNet works just the same, except it uses the WAP access point rather than the ISP one. Here is the link, then the important part of the message: http://list.humanware.com/archives/braillenote/2005-June/026694.html I have a regular BN and not a PK, so I don't know if this will help, but I've been able to use the GPRS with Cingular and the 6620 and the BN. In the connection configurations, my user name is ISP at CINGULARGPRS.COM (note it's all in caps). The password is CINGULAR1 again all in caps. The number to dial out is *99***1# which for those with punctuation off is star 99 star star star 1 pound. To get this to work, I had to go into (let's see if I can remember) settings, connections, GPRS, and access points, and set ISP.CINGULAR as my access point. I still want to learn how to get mail and web stuff with the phone itself, but I think I need to upgrade Talks before I can do that. But perhaps this info will help someone with Cingular be able to get it going with their BN or PK and GPRS. I have Cingular, the data plan thing, and a 6620. I got my cell phone to work a couple times, but the last few times I tried (and tried and tried and tried), the connection I saved wouldn't work. I got mine paired again, just like the other person, but that's as far as it would go. So there must be something we're both doing or not doing that allowed it to work the first time but has kept it from working every since. <grin> Peggy http://kernsac.livejournal.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- list of 3 items .
