Yeah I have done that too. I just tilt the bn to the right if I don't have my head phones and I can get at least one or two stations in ok like that.

Same here, but I find that firmly placing a finger against the headphone jack and/or touching the right side of the Braille display can give better reception if no headphones are available, though it does not match that of something plugged into the headphone jack. Don't ask why it works, but it does for my unit and sometimes the reception can approach headphones.
