The block commands menu allows you to insert top and bottom
markers. These markers define a block of text, much like
highlighting text on a computer. The menu gives you options
regarding the block:
append block to clipboard: copy the block to the clipboard,
adding it to any text already in the clipboard
copy block to clipboard: same as above except it will erase
anything already in the clipboard
delete block: erases the block from the current file
insert file: (does not use a block), allows you to insert the
whole text of another file into the current file at the cursor's
current position
move block: like copy except the block will be erased from the
file
paste clipboard: copies the entire contents of the clipboard into
the open file at the cursor's current location
read block: displays only the blocked text (in theory--I can
never get it to work well)
store block: allows you to select a drive, folder and filename
into which to copy the block
top marker insertion: marks the beginning of the block. BT
shortcut (from in the file): backspace-m. QT: ctrl-shift-m
bottom marker insertion: marks the end of the block. Once you
select this you are not returned to the file, you are back in the
block commands menu. No shortcuts.
Erase file and exit keyword: exactly what it sounds like
Zap. Erase the block markers: erases any block markers you have
inserted.
Some notes:
block markers and commands work on webpages as well (except
pasting)
if you try to paste the clipboard into a text box, you will
normally only get the first few words
the clipboard file itself is called "keysoft.blk" and is in the
none folder of the flash disk (you must press space-x on a BT to
see "list of all files" before it will show up)
I do not play much with the layout list, but it does indeed let
you format a file for printing. Be warned: the changes seem to
disappear after you exit the file, so ensure that you set them
(or make sure they are set) each time you need it printed. HTH
Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] block commands menu and layout list
Hi all,
when I was in a word document on my braille note, I accidently
pressed space
with B. It brought up the block commands menu. what is a block?
and I also
accidently pressed backspace with L. this brought up the layout
list. I'm
guessing this list has options for how things are set out in a
word
document?
have a good day,
from Andrew
