The trouble is, people are spoiled. They want a notetaker to do
everything
a PC can do. Even mainstream PDA's can't do that. Notetakers and
PDA'shave
scaled-down versions of software in them and they don't have the power
of
PC's.
Blind people in under-developed countries don't have notetakers and
they'd
love and appreciate any notetaker. So, if anyone wants to part with a
BN or
VN because they think it's too old, he or she could donate them to
organizations which help the blind in other countries and take it as a
tax
deduction. It's a crime to let something which is still usable
"gather
dust."
If the equipment doesn't meet your needs, don't whine, just do
something
about it.

You know? I feel that everyone is entitled to their opinion--whether
I
like it or not. However, I also feel that this list should be a

to share information, how-tos, announcements, and such. We should

No. We haven't had SSL before now. However, it's coming. That's
the
good news. If you don't like Humanware and the way they've done
things, get another notetaker. Can we please stop breeding
contention?
I'm not looking for anyone's response. Let's just think about it and

better!!! All many people care about is the games and music, just
like you said. There are so many other devices out that have
those capabilities: (including radios for music), that we should
be able to have something that is an informational tool. Ssl is

comes to shove, people will start thinking about these things.
The other thing that rubs us the wrong way is this, a notetaker
that costs so much should not have to be an extension of a PC.
There are those who don't own computers, and never intend to.

I'm writing to let everyone know that, since this equipment is so
far behind
the times, that I've got a VoiceNote that is going to have to sit
here and
collect dust.
My ISP has already started using the SSL for the SMTP server, and
now, so
far, I can only receive mail using the dial-up with the
VoiceNote. I'm sure
its just a matter of time, before they change settings with the
incoming as
well.
I have ATT service, and when I'm not at the computer for any
reason, I use
well, used the VoiceNote.
I think this SsL matter should have been handled long before now.
I'm going to be looking at equipment sold by other companies as I
think this
is totally ridiculous.
It is wrong for customers to be left out in the cold like this
but I know as
long as people are willing to keep throwing their money away,
HumanWare will
continue to leave their customers out in the cold.
I've always said, who cares about a notetaker that plays music
and games. I
like to use machines that are capable of being more then toys.
If I can't send email with the machine, there is no sense in me
even
bothering to use it for email, at all.
I know that the SSL is on its way in a future upgrade however,
after having
to send this machine in after prior upgrades, I'm not real sure
that I'm
going to take anymore chances installing anything else on this
machine.
I know that its the end of the line for classic machines and
think its a
shame that people have invested so much money in a product that
is so far
behind the times.
