Hello Don,
I am a classic user and yes we are getting cheated because we are not going
to get the better Microsoft Word support like we were promised a long time
ago.
Sincerely Greg

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] 8.0 for the Classics
I don't work for Humanware and certainly don't have any knowledge of their
internal decisions except for what I read.
But, I think it's worth noting that Jonathan left Humanware nearly one
year ago and a lot can certainly change in that time.
It could well be that they have decided that the Classic can and will
support upgrades through 7.x which now appears to be 7.5, and that
dropping the support for the classic because of new features which the
units hardware cannot support warrants a new version number, in this case
probably version 8.
I'm sure they put as many features as they can into 7.5 keeping in mind
that it must support the classic and the limitations this puts on them.
I don't think anyone is being cheated and really, nothing is really cast
in stone until a new release is actually sent out the door.
There has to be an end to everything and that includes enhancements to the
classic. That is, if everyone who owns the MPower or pk is demanding more
and more sophisticated features.
After all, the old 386 machine I still have around here won't run windows
vista and don't think Microsoft will be putting out Vista for that machine
any time soon. <smile>
