Hi Joseph and list,
That wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but it's close.
I was thinking, for example, you know at Main menu you can
<space>i for all sorts of version information, well, currently
you can browse around it and try and remember what it says.
I thought that while that information was, as it were on the
display, it would be good to be able to capture it into a file
with something like <space>s.
Similarly, for errors.
While there are errors like exceptions with their numbers behind
the display, if you could do <space>s and choose a file, or have
a default file to have it saved into.
that might even work with non BN errors like those from SMTP.
If the BN knows the error text that you can move over, perhaps it
can gather that together and shove it in a file.
Does that make sense?
Thanks and regards,
Steve.

Hi Stephen,
Are you suggesting Automated Error Reporting facility?
1. I think "error log" can be implemented.
2. This can be implemented in the log.
Please note that some errors are not specific to BrailleNote
(especially POP and SMTP errors like 550 (host unknown) and
such).
Cheers,
Joseph

informationenhancements
Hi,
I'm pretty sure you can't currently do this--please correct me if
I'm wrong.
The two following enhancements, if they could be added to the BN
family, might be helpful for problem reporting.
(Not saying there are many problems--these are splendid
machines).
1. The ability to save error(s) that appear on the display to a
file.
2. The ability to save comprehensive version information to a
file.
Both of these would make gathering such information easier and
more accurate.
Regards,
Steve.
