I believe Maurice Sloane posted a statement earlier this week that the patches for KeySoft 7.5 will use your existing 7.5 product key, and NOT consume another SMA count! Patches from Humanware use the same product key as the release they are patching, so you don't use additional SMA counts. Speaking of SMA counts, I'm out of them now I have KS 7.5 build 18 and should buy another SMA to get the next two paid-for upgrades for the price of one! While it may seem unnecessary to buy another SMA when a new version has just been released, the advantage of buying it now for me at least, is I have the money for another SMA and if I buy one, I don't need to worry about scraping up the necessary money and ordering in time for the next paid-for release!
