The thing is that it did it on its own; I was asleep and woke up
the next morning to it having done this reset by itself. It is
unlikely that the power went out long enough to have caused this
as a fan was on all night and I normally wake up if a constant
noise like that suddenly disappears (not to mention my dorm room
gets really hot with no fan). Someone else on the list said that
his friend's BN does this? Oh, now that I think of it, I don't
have to reset the clock even after the battery dies.
Have a great day,
Alex

Alex,
It is recommended that you remove all cards from your unit when
switching
on/off or performing resets. Try this next time and see if the
same issue
occurs.
The WiFI card puts quite a bit of drain on the unit, this may
shorten your
overall battery life if it is inserted at all times.

Subject: [Braillenote] very odd...
Hi all,
My BN has been turned on and charging all night, with a Sandisk
WIFI card
and a 1gb SD card inserted. I left it at the main menu and, when
I woke up
today, was greeted with "The clock needs setting"... After I set
the clock
it told me "system files have been updated, press reset." Then
it did it
again. Except for setting the clock, it was like it had done a
4-5-6 reset
without my knowledge. What could have happened? My battery is at
100%, so
I highly doubt the power failed, it ran flat, then it recharged
all in 9
hours. No data lost, for which I am extremely grateful, but it
has never
happened before and I don't want the same thing happening during
class or
while I am working in a document. Thanks for any light anyone
can shed on
this mystery.
Have a great day,
Alex
