Hi Jan You will need to upgrade to 7.5 in order to upgrade to version 8 so if you want 8 you will have to upgrade.
There are apparently a lot of useful features in 7.5 in regard to email, the media player on the MPower and the introduction of UEBC as an optional braille table. I suppose it is really a matter of personal preference and whether you will use these features.
