You'd have to have an internet provider, so that you could get online from
home. But if you had that, you'd probably already have an e-mail address at
home. I don't know what to tell you about being able to get e-mail from
work. I don't think my employer would let me access e-mail from my personal
e-mail address.

Terry,
Gmail is a free service like hotmail, yahoo, MSN or the others to the
like.
Gmail will work with keymail as of KeySoft 7.5. To get a free account
visit:
gmail.com.
There website is accessible from using it with JAWS and XP

Joseph;
From what you are saying below, a mail e-mail account is free, right?
What do I need to get access?
From a mail account, can I get access to my government e-mail account
or
would I have to send anything from one account to the other?
Any imfo you can give me will help.
Howw do I get an account?
Do I have to have internet to have a mail account?
Sorry for all the questions.
This is a new topic for me.

Hi Stefan,
Glad our messages helped you guys.
1. You'll need to go to www.gmail.com in order to setup a new
account.
This requires that you have a cell phone, because Gmail will send you
a
text message telling you the invitation code.
2. Contrary to Jose's statement, an email servie and an Internet
Service Provider (ISP) is different; Gmail is an email service that
allows its users to send and receive email.
ISP is a company that provides services which allows the user to
connect
to the Internet.
Verison, Comcast and such are ISP's. This is rather a clarification
statement. Yes, Gmail is free.
3. No, this will not confuse email clients.
Email clients like MS Outlook and KeyMail sends and receives email
using
email accounts that it has. As I said on question 2, Gmail is not an
ISP, rather an email service offered by Google.

Joseph

Hi Scott, Joseph and list,
Scott and Joseph, thank you for telling us
about the possibilities of
setting up a gmail account. I realise that
it's partly in response to
requests by others on the list for ways of
wifi-connecting whilst away
from home.
Some basic questions follow, however:
1. How do you access the page on which to
create the email account? Is
it from Google's home-page?
2. If you choose to have google as your
I.S.P. is the email service
free?
3. If you have to have an I.S.P. other than
Google to get a free
connection from Google then what is the
advantage of setting up such an
account in order to send as well as receive
mail -- won't it only
confuse your email recipients?
Cheers;
Stefan Slucki.
