Dear Paul and list:

I don't own a Blazer, but here are some things to consider:

You said you bought a serial modem cable with a 9 pin female plug
to connect to the 9 pin male on the Mpower and a 25 pin male to
plug into the 25 pin female on the Blazer.

Well if you have your serial parameters set the same on both
units and the serial interface enabled on the Blazer, this should
work like a charm.

Check your Blazer documentation, I think you can download the
actual user guide from the Freedom Scientific web site on how to
enable the serial interface and set its parameters, that is, Baud
rate, data bits, parity and stop bits.

You will also need to set both units to use either software
(x-on/x-off, or hardware (rts/cts) handshaking or very strange
things will happen!

If you are still stuck after checking the above points, then try
calling Freedom Scientific tech support for assistance with the
Blazer.

If you have a PC, you could also try connecting the Blazer to a
PC serial port and see if that works. If it does, then it
indicates the problem is something on the Mpower.

If it doesn't work with a PC, then it probably indicates a
problem with the Blazer.

Good luck.
