Yes, Humanware recommends you run the Mpower battery flat about once every three months. No, you won't lose your data on the Mpower's Flash Disk as it is non-volatile Flash Ram. If you want to be sure you don't lose anything, do a full image backup of the Flash drive to a CF, SD or USB card/drive before running the battery flat. While you shouldn't lose any data, there's always a one in a million chance that for some reason you will and you can't beat a full image backup for helping you sleep at night!
