Hello and a late Happy New Year
When WORDSWORTH, my VN QT MPOWER, returned home from HUMANWARE
last Wednesday, after a three weeks' absence, 4,136 emails were
waiting on my server. Since I belong to several cooking lists
and I wanted to brows and collect new holiday recipes, I needed
to devise a practical and efficient system for retrieving
incoming messages. I thought long and hard and made many false
starts; but, eventually, this is the method I finally devised:
1. I downloaded only 500 messages at a time.
2. Using CTRL+B, i moved to the bottom of the list and worked my
way upward toward the top.
3. I then dealt with messages in the normal manner, but I didn't
mark or delete them.
4. When I'd handled the topmost entry, I entered the email
options menu by pressing CTRL+ENTER and marked the entire group
by pressing CTRL+A.
5. I re-entered the email options menu and moved everything to
the TRASH folder by pressing the M key.
6. I exited the email program in the usual way and emptied the
TRASH folder as prompted.
I sincerely hope this method works as well for others as it did
for me!
Diane and WORDSWORTH
