Yes, I have seen one in person but did not get a chance to use
it, just handle it. The media keys in the front are great but
take the place of navigation keys or a joystick. Maybe the keys
are easy to use but in a different way; as I said, I didn't have
much of a chance with it.
Have a great day,
Alex

I would like to take a BS through its paces and see for myself
what it's
like.
I know it does have navigation keys and function keys on it
because I've
been reading the manual.
I'm not going to buy anything until I'm very sure about it.
I assume you have seen a BS and know for sure the navigation keys
aren't
easy to use?
One thing I do know and like: GW Micro has an active presence on
their
list, unlike HumanWare, who seems to have forgotten all about us,
especially
since the merger. I've been a loyal customer since 1995 and I've
purchased
many products and praised HumanWare for many years. It saddens
me to see
them falling down by the wayside. It reminds me of Telesensory:
for many
years they issued top-quality products then they sold them all to
FS in
favor of scanners and low-vision stuff and then they went the way
of the
doe-doe bird.

In defense of the bn, though, the bs is somewhat larger, has no
built-in
bluetooth, has only one usb host port, has no infra-red, and has
no sd
card support. Like all gwm notetakers, it has no thumb keys or
other easy
braille navigation keys.
Have a great day,
Alex

Hi Eric:
I have not TAKEN THE BRAILLESENSE through its paces, but one will
soon
arrive here on SOME KIND OF A LOAN from a reseller and I will
have AMPLE
TIME to play with it.
Without mincing words, GW Micro DOES PROVIDE better tech support.
Their
staff RESPOND quickly to questions and they do indeed help solve
problems.
In my opinion, they do a better job of testing and then again
retesting
their software offerings before releasing it to the marketplace.
As for hardware, the BrailleSense is much lighter in size; only
the MPower
comes somewhat close to matching the BrailleSnse in size. The
only caveat
orking against he Brailleense is that itcomes only in a 32-cell
system and
currently DOES NOT support the GPS offering from GW Micro; the
company has
indicated that THIS WILL CHANGE!!
Unlike Humanware that MANUFACTURES the BrailleNote, BrailleSense
is actually
manufactured in South Korea by H I M S, and GW Micro is its North
American
distributor. Both companies do have to work together on the
project.
Another great thing going for the BrailleSense: It has a
built-in LCD
display. Its built-in Ethernet port is a plus for me as Cat5
cables won't
become extinct or discontinued in the morning!!
Sincerely,
Olusegun
