Hi, Dave,

Your dream has come true. The HandyTech braille displays will work with cell phones running either MobileSpeak or Talks. The most compact and the most affordable is the Braillino. I've never seen one, but I've been reading the manuals for the HT displays, too. BTW the units have braille keyboards on them and you can operate the cell phone using the braille keyboard. There's bluetooth, too.

Subject: [Braillenote] The braille device of the future

Hello all,

With the release of the Nokia N82 due next month, It got me to dreaming:

Wouldn't it be nice if some clever company were to create a companion braille device for such products?

A small compact keyboard and display with bluetooth connection that allowed it to utilise all the applications that were supported by the cell phone or pda.

Why should we pay for duplicate software? Oh, and it would be nice if the braille device had a removable battery and storage card slots -- and had a reasonable price tag.

I'm going back to sleep now.

Kind regards,

Dave Ransley
