Just when I found the answer in the manual and began this post, it seems that Alex Hall has already told you that you had Compatibility Mode turned on. Maybe I can clarify things a bit for you and perhaps some novice users out there. If you or anyone have just gotten a Braille Note and are used to the old-style Blazie note takers like the Braille 'n Speak, Braille Lite, et cetera, compatibility mode lets you use those old familiar Blazie note taker keystrokes for editing files. Unfortunately, as you found out, some commands, like the b-chord (space with b) which you use to access the Block Commands menu, won't work.

As Alex said, open the Utilities menu, open Miscellaneous Options, space down to Compatibility Mode and press the letter f to turn it ofrf.

You won't need to reset the Braille Note; the change will take effect immediately.
