Hi Vicky and list,
Then it's time for yet another study with the following questions of my own: * Does this "automatic change" occur with all units running 7.5 or is it just mPowers? * If the change occurs under KeySoft 7.5, what specific build introduced this algorithm - was it build 20, 27 or 28 (28 is for mPowers only)? * What happens if a user uses prior version of KeySoft such as 7.2 or 7.0? Does these versions change automatically to daylight saving time as well (including PK and Classic) or is it just mPowers running these versions? * What happens when the DST is over on first Sunday of November this year? Will the BrailleNote switch back to standard time (one hour back) automatically?
Few misc comments of my own:
* Since the new rules on DST (Daylight Saving Time) was enforced since 2007 (prior to that, it started on the first Sunday of April), there should have been a tiny announcement (or at least a sentence or two in the readme file) that described this feature. * This may sound like my first comparison of this year: other notable products used patches to allow the internal clock to adjust to the new DST rule, and the only ones that I know that have automatically switched to the new rule are computers that received updates and, in this case, only BrailleNote (mPower to be exact). Well, I guess answers to these questions may help us to narrow down what's going on here.
Cheers,
Joseph

savings and the M Power

Well, I'm using KS 7.5 build 27 on both my PK
and mPower. Just
now, I set each of the units to 1:58 AM on
Sunday March 9 and
watched to see what would happen. I also did
not tell KS they
were in daylight saving time when I changed
the time. I then
watched the Braille display of each. The PK
went from 1:59:59 to
2:00:00 and then 2:00:01. The mPower on the
other hand went from
1:59:59 to 3:00:00 and then 3:00:01.

My mPower only did it for the first time this
year, it might be
keysoft 7.5's biggest thing.
