Hi, you will have to watch that user name tip. It is not true for all email providers. I used to only use the part of my address before the at symbol but then my email stopped working, so did my mum's but my dad's still worked. We are all with the same provider and after my brother did some investigating the only setting that was different between mum's mine and dad's was that dad was using his whole email address as his user name. So mum and I changed ours and we haven't had any more problems since.

So my advise is to check with your provider for what is required for all settings you can normally find most of them on their web page.

Good luck.

This will depend on who provides your email service; Roadrunner,
aol, yahoo, gmail, and so on. You go to the keymail menu, hit s,
hit d, then either a to add a new account or l to look up one you
have already started. What information are you missing? You will
need your username (your email address but without the at sign
and everything that comes after it), your email password (which
you should have been told to provide when setting up your email
with your provider), your pop and smtp names (this can change
depending on the provider, but said provider should be able to
tell you) and then the rest is just up to you--your name, email
address, all that. The only other thing to be careful of is
whether your provider requires ssl (secure socket layer). If so
you will need those settings as well, which your provider can
also give you. Let us know if this does not help, and don't
worry about telling me that it did not--just keep asking until
you get the right answer and don't worry about offending anyone.
The people on this list are generally quite hard to offend.

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] Configuring e-mail

Hi all,

My name is Marissa. I am a singer/songwriter from New York. I
am new to
this list I just joined today, and I am also new to the Humanware
family
of PDAs. I was wondering if anyone could help me configure my
e-mail? I
have my internet connected up through Active Sync right now, but
plan to
get a wireless CF card soon. I cannot for the life of me figure
out how to
configure my settings correctly. When I do try and connect to my
e-nail I
get error 11001. If anyone could assist me, I would be very
grateful!
thank you again, and have a wonderful day!

Musically,
Marissa
