I think dtmf autu-dialing would be a great idea. It would be really simple to do as ks seems to have a method for producing tones. I could probably write the subroutine in ten minutes myself if I knew how ks worked. I know I could probably do it in java right now, I think ks is cpp. Anyway, I would not mind using it and I have no trouble dialing a phone. We have machines to make life easier and, more importantly, to help people do things they cannot do themselves; if you have bad hands or a not-as-good-as-it-used-to-be memory then dtmf is great; if you have to do a lot of wordprocessing then keyword is great; if you can never figure out email on a pc then keymail is great; I could go on, but there are my own thoughts.

Have a great day,
Alex

Hello,

I personally like dialing my own numbers myself and wouldn't want
some
machine doing it for me. ON some note takers, the phone dialer
doesn't seem
to be an option. That really didn't appeal to me at all. If it
could have
anoption to be there for people who had more than one disability.
For
example, if they had a hard time using two hands, etc. I
personally like to
think and do for myself as possible. I don't use memories on my
phones
either. Rather, I try to use my mind or look it up on my BN or
my address
book in braille.

I don't know... I pretty happy with the BN the way it is. I'd
fix the FM
radio to be a little stronger, perhaps, and fix the word problem
 I'd also
see about upgrading the wireless to handle both kinds of security
which
would be the WEP and WPA. I'm just greatful to have something
that can work
with my computer. Well, that's all from me today. Take care.

Subject: [Braillenote] Keysoft Future Feature Suggestion

Good morning,

I would like to see the Braillenote family of equipment be able
to send
the
DTMF tones used to dial phones by sending the correct tone to
the
BrailleNote speaker so the phone would hear it and dial that
number.
Other
devices do it so I don't see why it can't be done with these
units.

I'm getting older and remembering a 10 digit number isn't
getting easier
so
all that would be needed is to look up in the address book that
person and
his complete number then a keystroke to have it dialed.

I remember getting a reply from a Humanware employee stating
that this
could
easily be included
and only finding out the DTMF tones would be needed.

I have nothing against games or listening to an FM radio, but
this to me
would be a more important feature to make the address book a
more useful
item.

Have a great day,

Paul Bolduc
