Hi there,
Have you tried Service Reset (Reset with Record button)? If reloading KS7.5
image does not work, then Service Reset would be the way to go.
This error message has numerous roots, but the theory that comes to mind is
hardware miscommunicaiton. Suppose that the BrailleNote's CPU (the device
that runs program instructions) was told to access some files on the Flash
Disk. While the Flash Disk was being accessed, the user might have pressed
Reset button, telling the CPU to stop whatever it was doing and restart
keySoft. This is called an "interrupt signal." Occasionally, there might be
situations where, after the software has restarted, it still thinks that
another program is using the hardware that it was trying to access in the
past. Thus, in theory, this "Flash Disk isunavailible" means that the
BrailleNote thinks that the Flash Disk is being used by another program,
which is unlikely. The only effective way to stop this behavior is
"unplugging and plugging a computer to the wall outlet" - hardware
reinitializaiton via Service Reset. When this reset is performed, not only
an equivalent of dots 4-5-6/JKL reset is executed, but internal clock and
other hardware is "switched off" then "restart."
I guess this explains a lot about what's going on.
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. Any computer science experts, did I explain/use those terms
correctly?

Subject: [Braillenote] urgent help needed, cannot find flash disk

Hello,

My BN just locked up as it sometimes does when the network card is inserted
and when I pressed reset I got the message "the flash disk is unavailable,
please press reset with no keys held down." I did this and received the
same message, reloaded keysoft 7.5 build 28 and received the same message
when it was done.
I'm fearing the worst, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
Betsy
