Wow! thank you for letting us know. My husband and I are Hams. So that was
really interesting to learn. I did have some trouble with my router whenever
I'd use my cordless, so I'm hoping that the dlink router will be better.

also known as WIFI:
There are presently four kinds:
A. 54 mb/sec on the 5 GHz radio frequencies.
B: 11 MG/sec on 2.4 GHz frequencies
G 54 MB/sec also on 2.4 GHz frequencies
Draft N: something like 104 or more MB/Sec on 2.4 GHz frequencies
I think.
Note that on the 2.4 GHz band, channels 1, 6 and 10 do not
overlap any other channel.
Not sure if any or all 5 GHz channels overlap each other or not.
Draft N is called that because the final spec for it hasn't been
published yet. Due to come out sometime this summer.
I believe the 2.4 and 5 GHz radio frequencies used for Wireless
Internet are shared with cordless telephones as friends with
cordless phones in those ranges report interference between their
telephone and wireless internet.
WIFI A was the first form of wireless connectivity to come out.
Cards for it and routers were originally quite expensive and it
wasn't all that popular. Now most wireless cards for PCs cover
A, B, G and often Draft N. Used to be people used A so their
network was for the most part away from prying eyes and screens.
But now every hacker has an A, B, G and Draft N card in his PC.
OK now you're an expert on wireless Internet.
