KeySoft 7.5 Build 29 mPower now released 22 May 2008
KeySoft 7.5, Build 29 for the mPower has been released today. As we continue to work towards the next major release of KeySoft scheduled for Fall 2008, we have just completed some foundational revisions to the mPower KeySoft application. These revisions are now incorporated in our current mPower production as KeySoft 7.5 Build 29, and we are pleased to be able to make these available to all version 7.5 mPower users. Build 29 contains 4 user improvements: 1. mPower now supports Wi-Fi 802.11 g protocol: A driver has been included to support the later model Ambicom WL54G WiFi card. This card is more readily available than the currently supported Ambicom WL1100C. The US Robotics Wireless MAXg USB Adapter USR5421 is also supported. 2. Appointment Scheduling: The error associated with scheduling an appointment to a date other than the current day has been fixed. This previously generated an error saying that the entered date needed to be after 1601. 3. USB Device Identification: The problem causing some USB and CD_ROM drives to be incorrectly identified as Printers has been corrected. 4. Words Added to Spelling Dictionary: Depending on the choice of Braille table, words added to the spell checker were not being retained, so appeared as spelling errors on future spell checks. This has been corrected. We encourage existing mPower KeySoft 7.5 Users to take advantage of these interim improvements as the Development Team continues working on implementing the exciting new features of the Fall 2008 release. Installation Notes: KeySoft 7.5 Build 29 is for the mPower only. Users upgrading their mPower from an earlier version of KeySoft 7.5 do not have to download and re-install the 7.5 Product Key. Users installing KeySoft 7.5 for the first time will need to obtain a Product key. The following brief instructions apply to those Users who are already running KeySoft 7.5 on their mPowers. Simply, download the new Bin file from the KeySoft 7.5 Upgrade page, using the link "KeySoft 7.5 mPower Download". Save the Bin file to a correctly prepared SD card. This card must be 512mB or less in capacity. Insert the card in the mPower, connect the AC Adapter, and perform a Reset with dots 4-5 held down. The upgrade process will then begin. Do not remove the AC adapter during the upgrade process or press Reset during the upgrade process.
