Hi, I am going to try and explain this to you. First you do need
active sync on your PC then you need to set up a partnership with
your PK by connecting it to the PC and going into utilities menu
and selecting connect to active sync. Then your PC should come up
with a box asking you if you want to set up a partnership you say
yes. Then you go through the options and you will come to a list
of things you want to sync. Because of the way the braillenote
works you want all boxes unchecked except for the box that says
files. Then when you check this box a message will say that a
folder has been created on your desktop or something like that.
Once you have finished this then it is quite easy to move files
across to the PC. You don't have to do any translating because it
does that itself when synchronising, any files you want to
transfer over you copy to a folder on the keysoft disk that says
synchronised folder and once the process has finished it should
turn up in the PK folder on your desktop.
Hope this helps and hope I haven't missed anything, it has been
such a long time since I have done this because I save most of my
files to a CF card in a text format and I have a card reader on
my PC.
Let me know if I can help anymore.
From Shaz.
BN QT MPower and PK user.

Subject: [Braillenote] Exporting to the serial port
Hello
How do I "prepare the host" for transmission of a file via the
serial port
on the BrailleNote? The user manual does not go into specifics
except that
it is possible to export a file via serial. Is any software, such
as
activesync, required on the PC for this process to work? How,
from the PC
end, can I access the file transmitted by the BrailleNote?
I do not need instructions regarding the exporting process from
the
BrailleNote end via the Translation menu, just how to set my PC
to receive
the file.
I have a PK running 7.2.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Kylie
