Hi Siena,
You may not have French enabled. To enable it, go to the utilities menu.
Find "language options." Cycle through the languages until you get to
"enable French?" Press y. Press escape and return to your file. Function
shift l will now work for you. Be sure Keynote Gold is your synth because
Eloquence doesn't support foreign languages.
