I've used it for songs I didn't know I'd need to bring with me and had to Braille real fast. And I've used it when I've needed to cantor special things, like the names of children being baptized, which of course changes every time we have baptisms, so I don't put it into regular Braille. It works well. Not sure what kind of tips you're looking for. I just hang it around my neck and use it.
