Hello Ann and List:
Ann, I am using part of your
statements. "I will remind you all that
back in the summer of 2007, Humanware
listened to the clamor of the rabble and
produced an upgrade for the BN which
broke the braille translator. This
happened because they were so eager to
produce an upgrade that careful coding,
rechecking, and proper beta testing of
their product was scrapped in defference
to the clamor of the rabble." That's
your reason, Brian and others say it is
because they don't want the competition
to know what is happening. I don't
think Humanware is worried about the
competition. I also don't think 7.5
failed because of the clamor. The only
question asked yesterday was, when could
information be expected? People are
correct in the fact that they paid for
the upgffade quite a while back. As you
may recall, it was stated that the
upgrade would be in the fall. I believe
people have the right to expect an
answer. It doesn't take any time from
Humanware to say it just isn't ready
yet. A few months ago, someone
commented that a "new family of product"
would be out next year. I believe it
was quoted from the Braille Monitor.
"Shut-up folks! I would much prefer an
upgrade that was released after two
years and worked well than that an
upgrade were released in a
year-and-a-half and was broken! It will
come when it comes. Clamoring will not
hasten the process." I don't know that
people need to shut up. If people's
questions are done in a well-written
manner, it seems to me people have the
right to question. It's true that a lot
of griping does nothing, but I think
reasonable answers should be expected.
Back to the coffee, and very good, I
might add.
