I second this; the list used to be set up so you could reply to either
sender or all, but the message always went to the list. About a year and a
half ago, I think, it was changed so that you could reply to sender and take
the conversation offlist, and I personally prefer this.

I would say that the reply function should be left as it is. That way you
don't get messages in your in box that should be sent privately and this
cuts down on list traffic,something which is important for people who

have dial-up connections or are on several lists.
