You should be able to save the XL as a CSV "Comma Separated
Values" file.
This is the file that you could then import to a database on the
BN.
I don't know how well this works, for although I did get a CSV
file from XL, it didn't have anything like the number of double
quotes to delimit fields as a CSV file from a database on the BN.
So there might be two problems.
1. If tbe BN is very fussy about the double quotes around field
values in CSV files, it might not import the data that well.
2. It would help if there is a way of getting XL to tell you what
format each column is in.
If not we could still try to make a reasonable stab at a
database.
I am willing to try and help with databases if I can.

Hi, there is a way to read excel files but it is not quick or
easy. You have to set up a database on the braillenote with the
same fields as the excel document then you export the excel
document on a pc to a format, sorry I can't remember what it is
called at the moment, then you take that file and import it into
your database on the braillenote. You have to do the same thing
each time you want to read an excel document on your braillenote
unless each time the document is set out exactly the same. I
keep meaning to do this for some excel files I get each month for
a committee I am on but I haven't had the time and I'm not all
that confident on setting up databases. If I can do it then it
will help both me and another friend on the committee who also
uses a braillenote.
Good luck with your new machine and I'm sure if you really want
to set up a database for your excel document there will be
someone on this list that knows what they are doing that can help
you.
