Yes, I think it would be a very good idea, mainly because of the fact that I have so many files (Close to 10000) that I need that are on my thumb drive, and not my flash disk. However if my thumb drive breaks down, I am stuffed, because I haven't got a backup coppy. And just on that while I am there, the backups take up so much room, I don't even bother doing them. I mean with close to 10000 files that I need most days, Why the devil would you want to do such a thing? I would probably use the file sincrinisation process that you suggested. Alex, you suggest one hell of a lot that I have no idea what it all means. Cheers, Blake.

Hi Alex,

This sounds quite a nice idea.
If it was a process that was manually started, that would make it
easier to ensure it only did that drive.
(If it was automatic the BN would have to be able to identify
that particular drive and, for example, leave alone any other
thumb drive).
Perhaps you might have to tell it which folders to do.
Would you expect it to go through each folder, and if it found
files on flash that weren't on the drive, or later versions of
existing files, it should update the thumb drive?
Should it update the flash to bring it in sync with the thumb
drive, (a two way process)?
It sounds doable.

Regards,
Steve.

Subject: [Braillenote] suggestion: folder sync

Hi all, mainly hw:
I have a thumb drive I use for classes and a website. I would
love nothing more than to be able to put this drive in and have
certain folders from my flash disk automatically copy themselves
to folders on this (and only this) drive. I could modify and
create files for my site and then have all the changes updated to
my thumb drive as soon as I put it in. This could run in the
background and have an optional alert when it is done.
Thanks for considering!

Have a great day,
Alex
