Hi List,

I was hoping I could get some help in establishing an LAN connection on my
Braille Note. Right now, I have the BN connected to the internet via a dial-up
connection, but son I will be moving back into my apartment. Once there, I'd
like to continue to access the internet with my BN, but it's going to require
an LAN connection.

I'm reading the user guide, and I'm a little lost. First off, what is an
ethernet card? I used an ethernet cable in my aprtment to connect my PC to the
internet, but I have no idea what this ethernet card is, that I apparently
need? Can I buy the card from anycomputer store or does it have to come from
Humanware? If it's a card, rather than the ethernet cable I'm used to, is there
still a cable attached to the card that plugs into the wall (like how the
ethernet cable plugs in the computer and in the wall). And which port on the BN
does the ethernet card go in?

Also, what is a proxy server. Thats one of the options in the connection entry
form, but the user guide doesn't give any advice on when to choose the yes or
when to choose the no option? How do I determine which one to select?

If you guys can help with any of these questions, I'd certainly appreciate it.
Thanks so much.

Lauren
