Hi Chris,

Recently, Windows Live Messenger (MSN) and Yahoo! Messenger were
opened up to each other, so that, for example, a Windows Live contact
could talk to a Yahoo! contact right from Windows Live Messenger. Due
to the incredible volume of people using either of these instant
messengers, neither Microsoft nor Yahoo! will have to start using XMPP
anytime soon. Despite what the HW representatives said in their
presentation, few people know or care what XMPP is, and simply use
Windows Live or Yahoo! because that's what all their buddies are
using.

Cheers,

Grant
