Well, I certainly never advocated throwing the BrailleNote out - it is a piece of technology which is still incredibly useful to me, both for academics and for my personal life, and I cannot help but think that anyone who publically advocated this was not being serious.
Now, I frankly don't think you will have much luck receiving a free notetaker via a public list whose purpose is to bring together users of that notetaker (i.e. people who are actively using said notetaker, not looking to gift it away). However, as others seem to think this is a perfectly reasonable request, I may be wrong - but I question whether those others are going to be willing to part with their own notetakers, or whether they're just making a point.
