Perhaps the point was slightly missed.
I have just used a database with a document field, to test this.
Selected an existing record, entered the document field, added
another line to it, <space>e to exit that field and the record.
No where in that lot was I told I had made changes.
I was in effect accessing the record in "read" mode, because I
used lookup record.
I did not use <backspace>c to ask for changes.
It would be slightly harder to deal with the document field as
KeyBase is probably calling on KeyWord to deal with that type of
field.
It should be quite possible though, after all KeyWord will tell
you changes have been made to files in certain circumstances.
KeyBase could possibly be enhanced to use BookReader when you
enter a document field, unless you have used <backspace>c while
viewing the record, then it could use KeyWord.
I don't know how many people do make use of this current feature.
Nothing is in the documentation about it as far as I know, so HW
can, (within reason), treat this different field as they like.
It would be a better fit of database and transaction concepts to
change this current behaviour.
