Hello List

I am returning to the list from a rather long absence.

I have had a BNPK for four years and haven't had any trouble with it, until
now. After two breakdowns this year, I have just been told that my PK is not
repairable, or rather that it will cost a minimum of $3000 to repair it. So,
it is more viable to replace the unit.

I am just wondering if any other PK users have had similar problems with
their units? I love the PK because it is the most compact braille PDA on the
market that I can discover, and I am reluctant to change. However, I want to
know whether anyone has a PK that has lasted, reliably, for more than four
years?

I do not mean to discredit any of Humanware's products. In fact, I am the
first to sing the praises of the PK, which is why I am seriously considering
buying another one. So, to maintain the integrity of Humanware, perhaps it
would be best if any replies were sent to me privately.

I already have an mPower as a backup, so I don't need to be convinced of the
merits of that particular machine. My only concern is with the PK at the
moment, because I need to decide whether to buy a new one or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Take care

Kylie
