If you are looking for cards that are 4GB in size and up, you will want a CompactFlash card. This will really depend on the maps that you are trying to load. For example, California is 963MB while Hawaii is 36MB. But, I would just recommend having those handful of maps that you are planning on being in within that particular time period and not loading all of the US as it really isn't necessary, unless you are a really frequent traveler.
