YES, HW, We need to hear from you as far as the future of the MPower as we know
it is concerned.
I Love my MPower and use it everyday, but want to know why I should keep
investing money in it because I could just keep it as is probably for the next
two years and then see what else is on the market at that point.

  Well, I had a SMA, so I did upgrade. But, I don't think I'm
going to buy another SMA at this time, at least not until we
hopefully have some idea of the possible future for the BN family
of products. I know there needs to be some secrecy on the part
of HW, but it would at least be good to know if future
development on the BN line is ongoing or planned.

I don't know if it is bad or good, but I'm thinking this has been
the longest amount of time the BN has gone without some sort of
hardware upgrade or modification. Its been about five years for
the PK, and about four for the mPower.

Also, I'm wondering what the problem is with the Word documents?
For, using Office 2007 and opening documents in the compatibility
mode and then saving them in Word 97-2003 format, I am able to
open them fine on my Sense note taker, but not on the BN. Is
this perhaps due to the difference in the Windows CE version the
two units are using? More and more, I'm having to put documents
on my Sense note taker and then save them in the DOC format so
they will work on my BN, as I can't save them on my PC to work on
the BN, not in DOC or in RTF.

I thought I recalled, and just checked the list archives to
confirm, that this release, meaning the one after the email SSL
problem was dealt with, was originally slated to deal with the
Word issues. But, I can only figure that something just didn't
work out with that, whether due to the BN operating system or
Microsoft or the BN hardware. Although, speaking of things that
were changed from the original plan, it is indeed great that the
HW folks were able to give the BN classic users the BookShare
  support.
