Go to the options menu, hit c, then hit b. You will hear "bluetooth on?
currently yes/no". If you hear "no", you can exit. If you hear "yes", hit n
to turn off bluetooth, then exit.
Yes, it is possible to have your battery replaced by places other than hw.
However, I strongly doubt that hw will fix any mistakes the shop makes to
the braillenote since the work was not done by a humanware-authorized
company. It voids any warranty you may have for sure.
Have a great day,
Alex

JD, I don't have a blue tooth, so know nothing about how those settings
work. Can you tell me what settings I should check?
That's interesting that other places can replace the battery. I
know we have a Battery Plus in our city, or at least did last I knew.
Does it take some special skill to change this battery? Is that why
Humanware wants to do it?

Hi Linda:
Check out to find if bluetooth may be on. This
would drain your battery more quickly.
The battery life gets shorter over it's life, it
lasts a very long time first, then slowly starts to
drain more quickly.
Some folks have gone to their local battery shop and
had them replace the battery a half of the
Humanware price and in a few hours.
In my limited experience Humanware needs your
BrailleNote for four to eight weeks including
shipping time

Subject: [Braillenote] Battery Life
Hello, hello everyone!
A question. My BrailleNote was fully charged and I
unplugged it
at about 11:00 this morning. I did not download or
upload email.
I took some notes for about a half hour. Then I
used it another
half hour at about 1:00p to refer to my notes. Then
I wrote on
it for three hours straight from 2:00 to 5:00.
That's all I've
done, and my battery is at 60 percent. I've had my
BrailleNote a
year, but I do use it a lot without it being plugged
in. I don't
leave my wireless card in, just my SD card. When
will I have to
have my battery replaced and how much does that
cost? And how
long do they keep it? I guess we can't just order a
battery and
put it in, right?
Linda
