The expense would be in upgrading, but Skype is free, and I believe their API (the actual bits of code that programmers use to talk to skype and make it do what they want) is free. I agree that it would sound bad on the internal microphone, though. EBuddy works, but lacks the easy-to-use and "run in background" interface that Keychat provides. Of course, HW decided to not support the networks that most everyone uses, so we cannot use those networks with it until someone gets that PSI software working, but if you know someone on Google Talk or another xmpp network you are set.

Have a great day,
Alex

Hi,

Skype might be a bit of a stretch. I've heard it on packmates,
for example, and it sounds terrible! But I would like to see some form
of audio communication. It would cost a fortune though! But if you
want to talk to your msn, yahoo, or aim buddies on the braillenote,
there's an easy way to do it. Simply go to ebuddy.com. You select the
network you use, press enter on the link, enter in your login info,
and you're ready to go. Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
  Amanda C.

Hi all, I just would like to know do you think if not adding
Skype, if HumanWare could add Object Exstainge and Headset
support with the BRAILLENote?
It would be cool if we could use the BN as a phone with hour
cellphones.
Hmm! Would be ok! Or add that with Skype and Msn and stuff.
Also add Twitter Klient for KeyChat.
KeyTwit! What ya think? hahaha!
Check out my FTP at ftp://d2o9.podzone.net
