Hi all,
Here it all is, straight from HW Customer Service. Note that all of this is
in U.S. dollars.
1. If you bought an mPower after October 1, 2009, you have until December 31
to call HW and arrange to trade your mPower for an Apex. If your mPower is a
32 cell, your Apex is basically free. If your mPower is an 18 cell, you pay
$1800 for the Apex. If your mPower is a VoiceNote, you pay the full price
($6195) for the Apex.
2. If you bought an mPower anytime in the past before October 1 of this
year, even if your unit has a transplanted Braille display:
A. A 32-cell display will let you buy an Apex for $4000, provided you give
HW your mPower.
B. An 18 cell will drop the Apex price to $4800, plus your old mPower.
VoiceNotes, again, have no value here, no matter when they were bought.
3. If you have a PK, you cannot get any trade-in value for it.
4. If you have a classic:
A. A 32 cell display will knock $800 off the price of an Apex, dropping it
to $5400.
B. An 18 cell classic will drop the price by $500, to $5700.
Again, a VoiceNote classic will have no trade-in value.
The time frames are:
Trade in an mPower bought after October 1: lasts until December 31, 2009,
but units will likely not ship until January of 2010.
Trade an older mPower or classic: seems to never expire; I gather this is
like the transplant offer for classic to mPower was; that is, good as long
as they say it is.
Hope this helps to clear things up, hopefully once and for all. Sorry I do
not have pricing for other countries.
Have a great day,
Alex
