Hello Alex and list
In this exciting time of new Humanware products, it is easy for
misinformation to be spread quickly. After reading an earlier post, I
would like to clarify a couple points about the future progress of both
the BrailleNote mPower and Apex.
There have been two future SMAs scheduled for the existing MPower
product. The feature set for these SMAs could include both specific
features to MPower only, or shared features with the Apex, depending on
the flexibility that we have with the current mPower platform.
KeySoft version 9.0 that will be released with BrailleNote Apex has the
same feature set as KeySoft version 8.0 but is built using a new
internal framework and has been optimized to work with the new Windows
CE 6 operating system as a foundation for exciting future developments.
When developing software for a new hardware platform we must start with
a stable foundation before future enhancements can securely be made.
This does not mean that users will not see immediate improvements in
speed, memory management, and stability when running Keysoft on the
Apex. Obviously the increase in memory and other hardware improvements
cause the Apex's efficiency to be greatly improved over that of the
mPower's.
As stated before, When one purchases the new BrailleNote Apex, they will
receive the first Software update free of charge. A promised feature of
this first SMA is improved Microsoft Word support.
For more information, we invite you to listen to tonight's tech talk
