Hello Siena:
When you take your card out of the unit, there is a long end,
and a short end. I have not seen the Apex, so bear with me.
When the prongs are facing down to go into the machine, you'll
see that a corner is cut out of the bottom left corner. When the
card is out, on the right side, there is not a cut-out corner.
There is a little switch on the right hand side. The switch is
moved to the top of the card, going away from the prongs.
Because I don't own an Apex, I can't tell you anything about
the formatting from the Flash drive to it.

Hi guys, I have two questions I'm not very techy so please bear

off-topic
and the second question I need an urgent response for if

Just wondering where the switch is located on an SD card to write
protect and unprotect the card and how do I move the switch
without
damaging it or the card in general? Thought I'd ask just in case

problem. Is this swith always located in the same place or is it
different on every brand of card? Another question: When I
attempt to
copy certain files to my SD card from my Flash disk, it tells me
that
a device attached to the system is not displaying correctly or
something along that line and won't let me copy the file. Why am
I
getting that when my card is properly plugged into the unit? It's
a
16GB SDHC card, and I'm using it via a card reader that I bought
from
Staples. It's not protected, I tested that by saving a document
on the
card using KeyWord. Thanks for your help!
