Dear BrailleNote users, HumanWare staff and others, Hope you are getting ready for 2010. I am busy moving to a new apartment, so I will not be able to do Internet for a while. But before I leave, I would like to announce something new and big.
It's been almost two years since the launch of a site called BrailleNote PBWorks. During this time, so many people have commented about the amount of information on the site, as well as ease of usability and simplicity of the layout. In light of this, I would like to announce the official launch of the two year anniversary edition of the PBWorks site, now at version 6.0! The emphasis of this release was to bring Apex to the PBWorks workspace - so that current and potential Apex users would get a glimpse of what Apex is like and how it works. As well as Apex release, coupled with suggestions from you - the list members, BrailleNote users and even from HW staff, I have made the site more friendly towards newbies and to provide an insight to Apex's functionality. Some of the changes as of 6.0.110 of the site includes: . A new page entitled "Apex Corner" has been created to showcase all about BrailleNote Apex, released few weeks ago. On this page, you can find comparison chart between Apex and its competetors, a description of the Apex and audio presentations about the Apex. . The Support Hotline articles has been updated to reflect features as of KeySoft 9.0 - Apex release. Also, new articles are now up on the site, including a tutorial on using fractions in calculator, deleting Internet temp files and so forth. . The front page now has instructions on how to navigate the site using a computer (with a screen reader) and a BrailleNote. Also, some of the misspellings and other minor problems were corrected (thanks to Alex Hall for your help). . The podcast Radio has a new audio tutorial - connecting a BrailleNote to be used as a bluetooth braille display. . The BrailleNote Tour: Basics has a new intro and look. The page has been reformatted with new users in mind - the content is simpler and easier to navigate. . The Web Terminal has gained a new website - that of Alex Hall's gateway2somewhere site. And many other updates, corrections and changes. I would like to take this time to thank HumanWare staff for releasing the apex. I would also like to thank you - the list members - who have helped me with this project with useful suggestions, corrections and criticisms. The site is, as always been, braillenote.pbworks.com. Due to my study commitments for next quarter (beginning next week), I will not be able to update the site frequently. But I am looking out for useful suggestions, inspirations for new articles and so forth which I (and others) can use to enhance the PBWorks site.
