Hi, I see... The reset that you are doing would be the problem with the extended startup time. In that reset, the BrailleNote is forced to reset without saving anything - a kin to holding down the power switch on your computer to shut it down. Well, congrajulations on getting an Apex. Cheers, Joseph

I got my Apex this evening and am having fun playing with it. I got my address list and connection configurations all transferred, and now I'm transferring GPS maps, which will take a while. I really like the Braille and everything. The one thing that I haven't figured out is that when I switch from one SD card to another, I have to do a reset before the new card is recognized, and the resets and startups take forever. The regular reset doesn't seem to work for me yet. I have to hold in the reset button for five seconds to get it to work. So I'll have to read up on resets. But my connections and everything work great. It just has a few quirks that the mPower didn't have that I'll need to learn to deal with; but so far I'm getting done what I want to do.
