When you say a book, do you mean a daisy book, or any file that is opened in the book reader?

Have a great day,

Hello All,
Well, I have had my Apex unit for a day now, and have found the following:
1. I was supposed to have the oxford dictionary transferred over to the Apex, and although the folder for the dictionary is there, there are no files.
The dictionary and thesaurus do not work.
2. When you read a book, as usual, it switches over eloquence, and when the Apex does this, there is a lot of crackling, scratching noise, and at times, stuttering. Hw tech support has stated, that this is normal with Eloquence, and that they are working on a fix for it. 3. I purchased a usb voice modem for the apex, for my work does not have ethernet, and the voice modem can not be recognized by the Apex, and I was quoted by one tech support staff, that any usb voice modem will work, and another says that is not true. 4. Probably the most disappointing part of the Apex for me, is that my 500 gb usb Western Digital hard drive will not work with the Apex.
5. I have found a bug, that Hw did not know about.
With the M-power, I always had the first two options in wifi turned off, unless I was traveling and wanted to find different wifi connections, and the last was always turned on, and with the Apex, they all need to be turned on, or my unit will just give me error messages when trying to connect to the wifi. 6. I have found, that even though, the Apex has so much power, and memory, that if you use Eloquence, the unit is very sluggish, and but that voice sounds better on the Apex then Keyninote Gold. 7. I have come across a feature, that I have been asking for for several years, which is that you can now receive html e-mails. Well, that is my early summary of the unit, though I will say, it is very lightweight, and I like that about the unit, and I find myself typing much faster then I did with the m-power. I will say, though, even though the keys are quieter then the m-power, they are still somewhat noisy.
Have a great day.

I'm astonished HumanWare has such poor quality control! There's no excuse
for them sending you a defective unit! I've never seen such poor service!

I, for one, don't plan to buy anything from HumanWare until they jack up
their service and quality control!

I've discovered that none of the USB ports on my Apex are working. I'm
not going to do anything about it right away, because I just got it, after
being without a unit for two months, and USB isn't the most important
thing for me at the moment. But I'll eventually have them fixed, when I
send it in for cleaning or something. I'm wondering if any of you who
have had your Apexes for a while had problems with the USB ports, and if
there was anything you did to fix them.
