In my brief experience witht the Apex, I think the battery guage is kind of flaky. I just got a second battery for the Apex so am running the first down to zero which is the best way to get the guage to be accurate?? when you recharge it. if that can be said about the guage. None of the other support information work on the Apex as they did on the old Mpower units except for the chord x which exercises the braille display, so I don't know how much we can trust the battery guage. I have found that it says 6 to 11 percent when it is running low and I turn the unit off and back on. I suppose this has to do with the stuff that is on or off like bluetooth or wireless. Nevertheless, I think the guage may be somewhat inaccurate and would take any announcement with a grain or two of rock salt. Compared to the old Mpower units with the irreplaceable batteries, the size of the new, user replaceable packs is much smaller in the Apex so it stands to reason that you can expect the Apex pack to not last as long between charges.
